Fontes Press is an independent publisher of biblical, patristic, linguistic, philosophical, and pastoral scholarship — serious books made accessible to the people who need them.
Why Fontes
Fontes is Latin for “sources” or “springs.” The name carries the conviction behind everything we publish: Christian thought is renewed when it returns to the wells it came from — Scripture in its original languages, the fathers of the church, and the long tradition of careful theological reasoning.
That commitment shapes an unusually wide list. We publish technical monographs in Koine Greek linguistics and Second Temple literature. We publish revised, readable translations of patristic texts that were previously locked behind archaic English or expensive critical editions. We publish preaching resources, discipleship guides, and works of philosophical theology. What holds the list together is not a single subject but a single posture toward the sources.
What we publish
Academic monographs and reference works for scholars and research libraries. Translations and editions of primary Christian texts. Textbooks and language resources for students. Practical resources for pastors, preachers, and small groups. Every title is placed in a series with a clear editorial rationale, not simply added to a catalog.
How we work
Fontes is deliberately small and author-attentive. Manuscripts receive real editorial engagement, production timelines are measured in months rather than years, and pricing is set so that students, pastors, and independent readers can actually own the books. Print and digital editions are produced together, and titles remain in print.
